📝 Description

Some things i considered while compiling this build:

  • What i hope to achieve: Use in gaming at 1080/1440 without too much strain on the system + light video editing work.
  • Contemplated whether to get a slower 2TB SSD or a faster 1TB SSD, in the end went for the Samsung 980 PRO 1TB.
  • 32GB RAM instead of 16GB to meet video editing needs (16GB would have been suffice for gaming only)
  • With 3070 GPU, no significant improvement in frames are expected by going for a high DDR5 RAM, so went for 4800MHz.
  • Initially would have gone for GIGABYTE Z690 Aorus Elite but prices went up.. :-( (it also has wifi6 and bluetooth function)
  • Went for 13th gen instead of lower gen CPU to fully utilise GPU, and K instead of KF, again for video editing needs. KF would have probably been enough for gaming. But the price diff was not much anyway (about £30).
  • Main reason going for Kraken X73 was because it's one of the better quality AIO liquid coolers in my opinion, and RGB is a bonus.
  • Case has a total of 7 fan spaces, but comes with 2 so extra 2 more fans bought.
  • Went for ASUS 3070 TUF model specifically, for it's relatively high clocks but at low temps.
  • Yet to build so can't comment on long-term performance but looking forward to it!

Ps this is my first build so i'm defo not a pro 😅 take all of the above with a pinch of salt

  • Total build cost at the time including thermalright socket guide: £1730

Great build! Gratz Is this the NZXT F120P White fan you were looking for? Hopefully when DDR5 prices will further go down you'll be able to swap that memory kit with a higher performance one.

Yes that's the one thanks! Yeah I hope so too - but at this point in time I think the improvement in performance from a faster memory card will only be significant if you have a more powerful gpu to back it up like a 4090 😁 nevertheless if prices do fall, definitely worth trying it out!
