AMD ha annunciato la sua prossima generazione di schede grafiche, le RX 7900 XTX e RX 7900 XT, le prime schede create dalla sua nuova architettura RDNA 3 che utilizza un design a chiplet simile ai processori Ryzen.
L'architettura AMD RDNA3 basata sul nodo a 5 nm è il primo progetto di chiplet per le GPU Radeon consumer. La GPU presenta un engine di calcolo realizzato con processo produttivo a 5 nm e sei chiplet di memoria realizzati con nodo a 6 nm.
L'azienda promette con RDNA 3 fino al 54% di aumento delle prestazioni per watt rispetto a RDNA 2, che utilizzava un design di GPU più tradizionale. AMD afferma che è in grado di produrre fino a 61 TFLOPs, rispetto ai 23 TFLOPs di RDNA 2.
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
AMD conferma che la sua nuova RX 7900 XTX sarà fino a 1,7 volte più veloce della RX 6950XT alla risoluzione 4K.
La Radeon 7900 XTX è la prima scheda Radeon a supportare l'interfaccia display DisplayPort 2.1, offrendo un supporto fino a 8K 165Hz o 4K a 480Hz.
A 4K, AMD promette 62 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 con la sua scheda 7900 XTX con ray tracing e AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) abilitato.
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT
La 7900 XT si basa su una GPU ridotta con 10752 stream processors e 20GB di memoria GDDR6 con consumo totale stimato di 300 watt.

E' stato anche annunciato l'FSR3 (FidelityFX Super Resolution), che uscirà l'anno prossimo, ma non sono stati forniti troppi dettagli. Secondo AMD, FSR3 dovrebbe garantire fino a 2 volte più FPS rispetto a AMD FSR 2 in giochi selezionati.

AMD ha annunciato che la Radeon RX 7900 XTX costerà 999 dollari, mentre la RX 7900XT sarà venduta a 899 dollari. Entrambe le schede saranno disponibili dal 13 Dicembre.
