AMD has announced interesting new products at CES 2020 in Las Vegas: the Ryzen 4000 Mobile processors with integrated Radeon GPU, the powerful 64-core Ryzen Threadripper 3990X processor and the Radeon RX 5600 GPUs for desktops and notebooks.

AMD Radeon RX 5600

The Radeon RX 5600 series is positioned in terms of performance and price between the Radeon RX 5700 and Radeon RX 5500 series. AMD offers the Radeon RX 5600 XT for desktop, the Radeon RX 5600 for OEMs and the Radeon RX 5700M / 5600M for notebooks. All are obviously based on the 7 nanometer Navi 10 GPU (RDNA architecture).

The Radeon RX 5600 XT integrates 36 CU (Compute Unit) and 6 GB of GDDR6 memory (192-bit bus), while the Radeon RX 5600 integrates 32 CU. The Radeon RX 5700M / 5600M instead integrate 36 CU and differ in the amount of memory (8 and 6 GB) and the size of the bus (256 and 192 bits). The Radeon RX 5600 XT will be available from January 21 through AMD partners. The price is $ 279.00.

AMD Ryzen 4000 Mobile

The new Ryzen 4000 Mobile processors are based on the 7 nanometer Zen 2 architecture. The Sunnyvale chipmaker offers two H series models with 45 Watt TDP and five U series models with 15 Watt TDP. The Ryzen 7 4800H and Ryzen 5 4600H integrate 8 and 6 cores, respectively, which operate at a base frequency of 2.9 and 3 GHz, but can reach 4.2 and 4 GHz on a single core. The other processors are Ryzen 7 4800U / 4700U (8 core), Ryzen 5 4700U / 4600U (6 core) and Ryzen 3 4300U (4 core) with base frequencies between 1.8 and 2.7 GHz (between 4.2 and 3.7 with Turbo). All CPUs support up to 64 GB of LPDDR4x RAM

AMD says the Ryzen 7 4800U offers up to 90% better multithreaded performance and up to 18% better graphics than the Intel Core i7-1065G7. The Ryzen 7 4800H is faster than the Intel Core i7-9750H in multithreaded operations (+ 46%), 4K video encoding (+ 25%) and physical simulation of games (+ 39%).

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X

The Ryzen Threadripper 3990X is the world's first 64-core (128-thread) HEDT processor. The CPU operates at a base frequency of 2.9 GHz and can reach 4.3 GHz in Turbo mode. The cache total is 288 MB, while the PCIe 4.0 lines are 88 (processor + AMD TRX40 chipset). The TDP is 280 watts. Performance is up to 51% higher than that of the Threadripper 3970X. It will be available from February 7 at a price of $ 3,990.
