Had the Vertex 460 been released a few months ago, our conclusion would have sounded quite different. Back then, OCZ was on the ropes. Buffeted by potential bankruptcy on one hand and falling consumer confidence on the other, things certainly didn’t...
We have just received word that Toshiba has finalized the purchase of the OCZ Technology group, making it a wholly owned subsidiary of the Toshiba Group Company. OCZ will still act independently as OCZ Storage Solutions, focusing on SSDs, meaning that the future of OCZ products is essentially confirmed for the future.
The OCZ Vertex 460 is a great indicator of the positive course being charted in OCZ's new future with Toshiba, accomplishing what it sets out to do: provide a value-minded, high-performance SSD for the mainstream consumer.
